For a nice, normal ad (albeit a well crafted one like this) to do well on youtube, look at the comments.

If the majority of commenters are asking about the song, it means they probably sat through the whole 30 seconds, weren’t angered, offended, but generally pretty happy with it, and might even think about it later that day.

Takeaway: Music can lift a good spot to a memorable spot. 

Example: Summer Blossom” - Strongbow (summer 10/’11)

A pretty ad, but utilised a song that was burning its way up from australian indie blogs into the mainstream. I’m sure quite a few of these views can be attributed to strongbow pool ad”, from people searching for that song.
