Why does this piece of visual communication fascinate me? I can’t seem to recreate it, on paper or digitally. Paul Rand worked as Art Director for one of my favourite magazines, Esquire This trademark’, not logo, turns up on the U.K edition still. How can someone ooze so much style that a few circles and a line, are easily recognised as their own?

It annoys me, but at the same time it’s too inspiring not to love.

Paul Rand, Esquire Trademark, 1939
